October 11th: Cure what ales you, Sample some chocolate beer

I admit, I’m not a huge beer fan. But, every once and a while, I have a taste for it. Which means my older brothers are in town, playing poker and drinking craft beers. Okay, they drink beer, and I sip some samples. Especially, when chocolate is on the label. Chocolate flavored beer. Game, changer.

Here are some variations of chocolate beer- so many flavors! Have you tried any? Let me know in the comment section below!

Wasatch Brewery: Black O’Lantern- Pumpkin Spices & Chocolate

Founder’s Brewery: Breakfast Stout- Double Chocolate Coffee Oatmeal Stout

Flying Dog: The Fear- Pumpkin Spices with a hint of Chocolate

Left Hand Brewing Company: Wake Up Dead Imperial Stout- Black licorice, dark chocolate and coffee

Sonoran: White Chocolate Ale

Boulevard Brewing: Chocolate Ale with Raspberry

Not a fan of beer? Have a root beer! ( Don’t forget to add the chocolate).

October 7th: Watch football, and eat a Butterball, er, a Butterfinger Ball

One of my favorite fall activities is to “Watch” football, which translated means, an afternoon hovering over the snack table.

This cheeseball-style snack, is sweet, simple, and perfect to curb game day cravings.

Butterfinger Ball

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Cookies, Pretzels, or apples for dipping

Directions:

1. With a mixer, blend cream cheese, sugar, and peanut butter until smooth.

2. Mix in chocolate chips by hand.

3. Chill mixture for 15 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, crush butterfingers in a resealable bag.

5. Place cream cheese mixture in plastic wrap. Form a ball.

6. Roll the ball into Butterfinger pieces.

Halloween is all about the creep-factor. And I can’t think of anything creepier than eating a frog.

October 6th: Watch (or read), Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and eat Chocolate Frogs

If you can’t find them in the store, you can purchase frogs here.

Or, you can make your own and get a lot more toads for your green. I like these molds because they’re big enough to add a filling or surprise center. Plus, they look more real, and less cutesy.

Want to fancy them up? Print out and create these nifty chocolate frog boxes.
